Subnivean’s staff, with equipment loaned to us by the zoology program at the State University of New York at Oswego, has discovered something marvelous: not a new poet or author in one of the 63 countries from which we receive manuscripts. Not a new voice actor to recruit for our audio broadcast. No.  

We have discovered another university—hidden, clandestine—operating adjacent to the hallowed halls of our Central New York campus, right here in Oswego, where four times more snow falls than in Manhattan. This is our first attempt to document the goings-on there. Our research will continue in every new issue.
